The only thing that all of these games had in common was their install location - my storage drive (D:/Games/Steam Library/). So after having made a steam support ticket and getting absolutely nowhere, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Can you really have a high number of queries for that long? Or is it something with my system/network? If somoeone could check that would be great: ġ20GB SSD, 1TB HDD (where games are installed) But it's been that way since early February as well. This is weird as well but on the steam support page it says they are experiencing a high volume of tickets. I've reinstalled Portal but that didn't fix the problem either. I've tried changing servers to complete the installation, as well as deleting the appcache and config files in Steam to see if that would fix the problem, but it hasn't. Portal 2 gets as far as the first loading screen before closing, but I can get into the L4D main menu and try to start a game before that crashes. I can launch the exe file in the Steam directory for both Portal and L4D. The really weird thing is I have played Hitman Absolution on it before while I was waiting for my R9 290 to arrive, but now it comes up with the error too.
This message has been appearing since I put the build together in February. I looked up error 53 and it says something about disabling antivirus, which I don't have on my computer. It will get to 100% then say "the steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request. There may be other games with the problem but I haven't tried to launch all of them yet.īasically, whenever I try to launch these games Steam will say "completing installation. This affects Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Hitman Absolution. I've left it alone for so long because I haven't felt like playing them until now. I've been having some trouble trying to play some games on my PC for a while now.
